People always talk about the Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Patriots and Giants as the most successful teams in NFL history. No one ever mentions the 49ers (at least in NY). This, despite the fact the Forty-niners are tied for 2nd (Dallas) in Super Bowl victories, with 5. Unlike the Cowboys, though, SF won their 5 rings in 5 tries, while Dallas has lost the big game twice. Pittsburgh, despite having the most victories in the big game, has also lost 3 times. SF is 5-0! They didnt just win 5 games, they fucking dominated. 3 of the top 9 scoring outputs in SB history were compliments of SF (49, 38 and a SB record 55 against Denver). Overall, SF has outscored its opponents 188-89 in the big game. However, the most ridiculous SF SB stat is the fact that a 49er QB has NEVER thrown an INT! 17 TD- 0 INT. Montana even has 2 rushing TD in the SB. 49er QBs have also averaged almost 300 yds/game passing, and have an overall QBR of 132.2, which has earned 49er signal callers 4 MVP's (Jerry Rice was MVP in the other game). Point is, in the biggest, most pressure-packed, widely watched, most talked about game of the year, a game in which a players' career and legacy is either cemented or destroyed, the 49ers, not just the quarterbacks, but all 50+ of them, have left it all on the field, and have played flawlessly. Maybe the team is so good in the postseason because they've had so much experience playing under pressure. San Fran won at least 10 games an astounding 16 years in a row (1983-1998), and 17 of 18. No other team has even come close to this level of long-distance dominance. Whoever doesn't acknowledge them as the most successful and most decorated, proudest team in NFL history needs a history lesson. So fuck your Cowboys, Steelers, G-Men, Packers, Pats and everyone else. They cant hold a candle to the boys from the city by the bay!
